[A nod. Followed by a bright smile. Perhaps not so energetic as his, but by her standards, you could almost say her face was glowing. ~~Except not literally. This time.~~]

I am!

I've never gotten to drive one of the cars before, but I've seen other people do it.

[She definitely knows how to set a light-hearted tone.]

Is that so? Ah, I will be honored to witness your first ride, Hikari-san! I am sure that we will have a lot of fun. Have they looked complicated to drive?

I don't think so?

You push the petal to make it go, and you turn the wheel to go left and right. Just like a real car.

[...ironically, with a little less understanding of how complicated driving an actual car can be.]

Is that so? Ah, that sounds very simple! I feel that I can get used to this easily, Hikari-san!

[He smiles.

With hope, neither of them should end up in the front seat of a car anytime soon.]

[Well, they're certainly about to get their chance with the bumper version; within a few minutes, they were next in line for the ride. Which gave them a front-row view to all the action. The cars, some being driven individually, some in pairs, steering left and ride and every which way. Many of them deliberately crashing into one another, to the utter delight of everyone involved.]

It does look like fun!

It does! [He pumps a fist excitedly as he watches the cars go at it!] Ah, I am very excited to take this ride on!

[She jumped a little as two cars pretty close to where they were watching engaged in a head-on collision, but relaxed when both parties came out unscathed.]

We're up next, Lee-san. [She motioned to the collective groups who were exiting their ride, leaving a few cars open. One of them, conveniently, was green.] Ready?

Yes! [He cheers as he hops forward. But he lets Hikari have first pick, and he stands nearby in case she needs help getting into the car.]

I feel all fired up for this challenge, Hikari-san! I am ready!

[It was low enough that she only needed to step (slightly awkwardly) up and into the car of her choice. A yellow model, with extra floating padding all around the seat. It would sacrifice speed in exchange for additional guarantee of safety in the event of multiple collisions.]

[Basically, it was as kid-friendly as the ride could get.]

Ready!

[Lee smiles as he steps right into the green car.]

I am also prepared...! [He sits anxiously, waiting for the bumper cars to kick to life...!]

[And then do, not a moment later!]

[Although Hikari takes a moment to adjust to her controls. It was just as she said it would be. Push the little peddle at the bottom of her right foot to go. Except there was a second peddle...which she soon realized allowed her to stop short. And then the wheel in front of her was fairly sensitive, to the point where, if she cut it hard enough, she could actually get her bumper car to spin around in a circle!]

[Rock Lee smiles as he glances towards Hikari spinning around.]

Good job!

[And Lee doesn't do anything by halves, so he puts his foot towards the peddle and speeds right into the opposite wall.]

Yoooouuuth!!

[She was far enough away from him not to be at risk for getting hit...but she still jumped when his car crashed.]

Oh!

Lee-san! Are you...alright?

[He quickly raises a thumbs up.]

I am well! Do not worry. That was an incredible rush! [He said as he tried backing his cart out.]

[...well. He...seemed alright?]

[She relaxed and started working her own controls a little more productively. The car jerked forward, gradually accelerating more and more with the occasional turn. Weaving her way in and out of the increasing number of other drivers in the area.]

[The first time she crashed, she let out a small yelp. Then laughed. As did the other person, who backed away and headed off in search of another victim. The second time...she was the one who bounced into another car, startling the person but scoring a point for herself.]

[Rock Lee quickly veered around a few times and started bumping a few people, quickly being delighted by this game. He looked towards her in concern during her first crash, but was relieved to see that she was okay. And then the second time, he gives her a thumbs up.]

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this.

[Sure enough, she was able to figure out how to turn the wheel sharply in order to avoid another oncoming car. It veered straight past her before crashing into the nearby (padded) wall.]

[Lee lets out a delighted laugh.]

You are! You are truly learning, youth! [He smiles as he drives onwards and chooses his own target, mercilessly bumping the stranger.] Dynamic Bumping!

...huh?

[So thrown by the strange phrasing, Hikari missed her chance to avoid the next oncoming car, which bumped right into her. Only a slight jostling, of course, and it did serve to bring her back to her task at hand.]

[There were another car not too far from hers. She aimed for it.]

[He doesn't think to explain his spontaneous attack. Rather, despite the jostling just being slight, he calls out to her.]

Hikari-san, are you alright?! [He then zooms over to avenge her, bumping right into the car that had bumped into hers.]

[She waited until she had bumped into her newest target before calling back.]

I'm fine!

I think I need to go faster, though. Out time is almost up, and I haven't gotten all the cars yet!

Faster?! Ah... Leave it to me, Hikari-san! [He has already scored what he wanted to, after all...

So, he quickly manages to undo his safety apparatus and flips out of his bumper car. He comes up behind Hikari and starts pushing, to boost the cart's speed with his own.] Please direct me!!

[LEE WHAT EVEN--]

[Oh]

[Oh, hey]

[This...was actually kind of fun!]

[Once the initial surprise wore off, Hikari reached for her wheel once more, steering towards the next target, which they glanced a blow off just in time to head straight for the next. And the next.]

[BETTER FASTER STRONGER

Lee keeps on moving quickly while adjusting his trajectory with Hikari's steering of the wheel. And he keeps on doing his best in hitting them all, occasionally letting out a cheerful laugh.]

Youth at full power!!

[Umm...what he said?]

[They continued like that until the buzzer rang, and all the cars stopped right in their tracks, suddenly weighted down by some sort of unseen, possibly magnetic force.]

That was great!

[Her hair was sticking out in a way that it hadn't since the time Takeru put it in those wild ponytails...her bangs were covering her eyes...but she looked absolutely thrilled.]
