First Gate [Video/Action]

[Video]

[The video feed suddenly kicks in with the sound of rushing winds and the sight of a blue sky. And soon, falling into view is bushy-browed teenager with a bowlcut, confusion and panic written all over his face.

Upon arrival, Rock Lee and his book open have begun freefalling through the sky to towards the village. Lee keeps his eyes focused on the open book and pushes himself through the air to get a closer look. Just enough to tell that it's some kind of communication device... and that it seems to be recording his face, and his movements.

Can they hear him, too? A million thoughts rush through his head. What happened? Where did everyone go? Why am I floating through the sky? Somebody help me down! But... if people could see him, he wouldn't want to look weak, would he? He's Rock Lee, after all. The Green Beast of Konoha. He can figure out a way out of this.

What would Gai Sensei do?

So he opts to force on a smile, one full of shining teeth, and he flashes a thumbs up towards the camera and shouts as loud as he can.]

DYNAMIC... ENTRY!

[Lee can find his way down. After all, his training weights are gone. He feels so light.]

[Action]

[If anyone misses out on the high-paced action, they can find Lee after he lands - either traveling to the item shop for his headband, weights and equipment or to the clothing shop for his valued green jumpsuit and vest. He'll also jog around to survey the village and some of the forest afterwards, eager to greet his new neighbors in the process.]

[The remaining clones disperse the moment Lee hugs Naruto, with the latter grunting under his breath. He was not expecting a brohug, he can just... awkwardly pat Lee on the back.]

O-OI, I HAVEN'T DONE ANY OF THAT YET!

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, NARUTO-KUN? THE LAST I HEARD OF YOU WAS YOUR HEROIC BATTLE AGAINST MADARA ALONGSIDE GAI SENSEI AND THE OTHERS!

[Wow, they're just going to keep going aren't they. Bet they didn't even notice he came up here. Sighing.]

[Which turns into a deep breath and then-]

SHUT THE HELL UP!

I-- EH? SHIKAMARU?

[It's almost like his "shut up" didn't bother him at all.]

[He releases his hold on Naruto and turns to face Shikamaru, waving happily.]

HELLO SHIKAMARU-SAN! WHAT WAS THAT YOU SAID?

PEOPLE CAN-

[Wait, don't sink to their level! D8

He clears his throat and starts over.]

People can hear you guys for a mile. Tone it down.

[you must sink to their level, Shikamaru. It's the only way.]

SO?

[Maybe it's for the best if he quiets down anyway. His throat was starting to hurt.] We were havin' a reunion!

[Lee finally gets it.]

Indeed, we were! Still, I apologize, Shikamaru-kun, for disturbing your peace. Do you know where the rest of the army has wound up?

[So Lee's ahead of them too, huh?]

'fraid not - that moment hasn't happened for me yet.

[Army? Madara? Lee's really up there.]

Hasn't happened for me either.

I do not understand. Have I... fallen back through time?

It's troublesome to explain... [Sigh. Okay.] Think of it as a pinwheel, where every blade represents a different point in time. You were on one, and we were on another.

We've fallen off those edges, though, and are now situated at the axis. A place where those separate times can meet without moving.

Yeah... [Naruto knows what Shikamaru's talking about and he still couldn't really follow that. He sort of did, but it reminded him of that complicated explanation he got back during Sage training.

And now he's thinking about ice cream.]

[He takes a moment to think this over, trying not to just think about ice cream instead.]

So there are people here from all different kinds of times? What... kind of place is this, then? And... what times are you all from?

The last thing I remember is sitting in on a war meeting, the day after The Fifth woke up from her coma.

I was trainin' with Bee to help control the Nine-Tails' chakra. It was really complicated trainin'!

[Stacking giant blocks and everything.]

This place is pretty complicated, takin' people from different worlds and times and stuff.

So... it is true, then? Neither of you have reached the war, yet. This can truly bring people from other times... and did you say other worlds? And this is definitely no trick?

No trick, no genjutsu. To effect such a wide-scale, the details of this world are too elaborate.

That the people here come from other worlds makes more sense than any other theory, by comparison.

[Lee's already spoken to some on the journals, Shikamaru saw. He might get an idea of what he means.]

What Shikamaru said. I mean, hell, I've been stuck in this place on and off for years.

[That's the best support Naruto can vouch for the whole time period thing.]

[He reflects on the conversations he had so far. They did seem unusual and used such odd terms, but Lee was sure they were in some corner of the world he was less familiar with. But it's hard to argue with Shikamaru's logic.]

Some of the people I've spoken to have seemed odd, but it is hard to believe. What kind of enemies can do such an unbelievable thing? And... they've taken you multiple times, Naruto-kun?

Naruto's been here longer than anyone from our group.

[He reaches for his journal now, looking for a specific page.]

Yeah. A ton of times. I get home sometimes, do some stuff, and next thing I know I'm back here a week later.

[He's looking at Shikamaru, pretty sure of what he's doing.]

You truly are a noble fighter youth to endure such treatment, time and time again, Naruto-kun. Does this mean that we are allowed visits home when we have stayed here long enough?

It's not so structured. [Well, there was that one time...] Not usually.
