First Gate [Video/Action]

[The video feed suddenly kicks in with the sound of rushing winds and the sight of a blue sky. And soon, falling into view is bushy-browed teenager with a bowlcut, confusion and panic written all over his face.

Upon arrival, Rock Lee and his book open have begun freefalling through the sky to towards the village. Lee keeps his eyes focused on the open book and pushes himself through the air to get a closer look. Just enough to tell that it's some kind of communication device... and that it seems to be recording his face, and his movements.

Can they hear him, too? A million thoughts rush through his head. What happened? Where did everyone go? Why am I floating through the sky? Somebody help me down! But... if people could see him, he wouldn't want to look weak, would he? He's Rock Lee, after all. The Green Beast of Konoha. He can figure out a way out of this.

What would Gai Sensei do?

So he opts to force on a smile, one full of shining teeth, and he flashes a thumbs up towards the camera and shouts as loud as he can.]

DYNAMIC... ENTRY!

[Lee can find his way down. After all, his training weights are gone. He feels so light.]

[If anyone misses out on the high-paced action, they can find Lee after he lands - either traveling to the item shop for his headband, weights and equipment or to the clothing shop for his valued green jumpsuit and vest. He'll also jog around to survey the village and some of the forest afterwards, eager to greet his new neighbors in the process.]

[He looks down for a moment, considering this situation as he twists his jumpsuit in his hand. Then he looks back up and tries to smile.]

But... even if we are trapped here, and they try to break us... they will fail, right? We are ninjas of Konoha and students of Gai-Sensei after all. We youths are made of materials that are much too stubborn.

They can change who we are at a whim. There are... Shifts, they're called here. Times when everything changes around us, when even we change. The last time... Tenten turned into some bizarre other creature, concerned with nail polish and lipstick and clothing. Not at all the person we knew. It could happen to us, too.

[He won't let hopelessness get the better of him. With the clothes back in place, he stomps into the changing room.]

[Maybe he'll be able to help Neji fight it. For the meantime, though, Neji will just lean against the wall and wait for Lee to change.]

[And he comes out afterwards in his jumpsuit and jacket, with the weights successfully reapplied.]

Having my clothes back, my determination is only redoubled! If we are to survive in this place, Neji, we must simply remember everything Gai Sensei has taught us!

I don't think even he would be prepared to deal with this place.

[But it would be comforting if he were here, nonetheless.... Not that Neji will ever admit that.]

It is possible that this is a situation Gai-Sensei has not foreseen. [Not that he will ever fully believe that.] But regardless, he would want us to look out for each other and rely on our bonds as teammates in order to endure and survive in this odd land.

He's not omniscient, Lee. No one could have predicted this.

We shall. With our team here, we can continue training as usual at least. And it is a break from our war.

[Oh, Gai's mental potential is pretty well known, if you ask Neji.]

Mm. That is something. Although I think I would rather be back in the war; we'd be accomplishing something there.

This is true. We could be helping Gai Sensei and the others in that most decisive battle. But we have plenty of extra time here to prepare for that day, do we not?

We won't remember being here when we go back. So there is little preparation to be accomplished.

... Still, it's no bad thing to keep up our skills. This place is what it is.

[He's a little downcast upon hearing that. Time wasted? The springtime of youth, drained?]

So it shall be like this never occurred. But... yes, I will not let this deter me from training to my greatest!

Indeed. However, there are missions to be undertaken here as well, which you can volunteer for. It is to the assistance of our captors, but it's still an exercise of skills, and a way to stay keen.

There are? It feels like it would be unjust for our skills to be used at the disposal of anyone other than our village... but with so few options, perhaps I may pursue this one. [Like a ninja Enegergizer bunny, he needs to be able to just keep going.]

Our abilities are of no use to Konoha here. And going on missions seems to aid those who are here that are in need.

[Neji supports this plan. Lee definitely needs to stay busy, and it's good to be useful.]

In that case... helping those in need is the spirit of our missions. So doing so may just be the wiser and nobler choice!
