[He urges her on like a living fitness program, while whatever it is is gaining on them. Lee remains ready to act if he needs to...!]

[ The kicker is that on a normal day, he's even dressed like a fitness instructor. Sort of. ]

Y-Yes! [ Her legs are going to hate her the next day, she's sure, but she's definitely picking up the pace the best she can. Just in time too, as one of those hideous four-legged critters decides now's a good time to smash through the underbrush, knock over a tree, and snarl in their direction from behind them. ]

[It's close enough, really.

Feel the burn, Nyuu! Lee looks more alarmed as the monster gets close enough to reveal himself, and he keeps making cautious glances at Nyuu.]

Hurry!! This is the hour... when our youth must be at full power!!

[ She can't help it, she laughs at the rhyme, and for the moment, it helps her forget her legs are already loudly protesting her running. ]

Full power! Absolutely!

[ Thus far, the beast is still a few seconds back from them, and so long as her legs keep up the pace, they might be able to outrun it. Maybe. ]

[He did not even intend to rhyme or notice it, so he's a bit perplexed by her laughter for a moment, but he flashes her a confident smile.]

Yes! Keep it up, Nyuu-san! I believe in you!! [He reaches back and tugs at her wrist to help her keep ahead of the monster. ...If it gets too close, he's ready to try tossing her into the distance ahead of him.]

[ Nyuu grits her teeth and huffs as she works to keep pace with him, and for a time, she's quite content with herself. Maybe even proud!

Then the monster chasing them is joined by a friend, which crashes in from the side and keeps a far better pace along Nyuu's side than its pal.

Oh, well, that's a good sign. ]

L-Lee-san! That's...!

[Rock Lee gasps as he sees the second monster emerge. Nyuu is now in danger! And Lee has to do what he can.]

L-leave this to me! [With that, he tries to exert as much force as he can, with his hand on Nyuu's wrist, to try to throw her into a nearby tree; if that goes through successfully, he will then turn and charge at the monsters to attempt to fight them.]

Ah, w-w-wait, let's not be too ha- [ She's understandably cut off by her own shrieking, but how could she not squeal as she's thrown into the air? Thankfully, he at least gave her a toss into a tree with a thick covering of leaves, but she's still stuck in a daze as she tries to get her bearings, clinging to the branches for dear life.

The creatures don't even seem to mind that half their intended meal is now missing since the other half is still in front of them. As hungry, dumb beasts are wont to do, they take his charging as a challenge and barrel toward him with teeth bared. ]

I apologize, Nyuu-san, please hang in there!!

[Success! With his new friend stuck in a tree, Lee focuses on dealing with their new friends.]

Konoha Whirlwind!! [He gets a good series of kicks and punches in, slowly knocking the monsters back and dealing some damage, but the monsters' claws and teeth manage to make some marks on Lee at the same time.]

[ He can rest assured that oh, indeed, she's a-hangin' in there the best she can. That is, until she tries moving to a different branch and falls out of the tree entirely. She makes enough racket going down through the branches to attract the attention of one of the creatures, but then it's getting kicked in the face hard enough to knock it for a loop, and its pal pounces at Lee since he's easily the most offensive thing to it at the moment. ]

[Well, I guess she's not so good at branching out.

Lee gives a startled gasp as she falls.] Nyuu-san! [But that quickly turns to looking impressed at her kick. And he's then able to re-focus his attention on his own dance partner.

As the other monster leaps at him, Rock Lee jumps back onto his hands and then kicks both feet upwards to knock the monster back a bit, before he leaps back at it for a more direct attack.]

[ Whatever's going on, a certain person isn't very happy about it. Her head hurts, her vision is spinning, and there's a...thing snarling at her. Not the best way to wake up, really. ]

What...

[ Lucy narrows her eyes at the monster that's recovered from getting her foot in its face. Whatever is going on, she'll figure it out when her head stops hurting and when that thing is super dead. The latter of which is the easiest to get rid of, as the creature quickly falls dead after developing a severe and unfortunate case of the, well, the "your head suddenly just kinda falls off your neck for no reason" syndrome. Super deadly, thankfully not contagious. ]

[Rock Lee makes some great advances in fending off his own monster, and so he looks back to check on Nyuu's progress.

...Just in time to be shocked to see the monster's abrupt new syndrome.]

N-Nyuu-san?!

[ Nyuu-san...someone she knows is nearby. The thought sobers her up right quick, and she stands up on shaky legs. She might've made things more difficult for the other her, which makes things worse for the both of them. ]

It hurts.

['It hurts'? That definitely hits a concern button for Lee. Immediately, he unleashes a dynamic snap kick to knock the beast into the bushes and out cold for a moment.

Then he turns his attention squarely towards 'Nyuu' and swiftly tries to approach her.]

What hurts? What is wrong?

[ He's a face she's never seen before, that's for sure, but if he knows Nyuu, then he's her friend. Well, hers, rather. All the more reason to not do anything untoward while he's around. He's kinda weird, as if she's got any room to judge that. Nice kick though. ]

My head.

[ Since his attention is off the monster for now too, she takes the chance to snap its neck from afar with one of her vectors nice and covertly. ]

Your head? [He certainly doesn't notice the monster's fate and will assume it was just knocked out by his attack. He steps closer to try to help, although he sees no signs of an injury.]

Ah... Was it injured, or do you just feel a headache...?

Just a bump. [ She rubs the goose egg currently knotting up near her temple, and other than a wince, she doesn't outwardly show any sign of pain. ]

Don't worry about it.

[Lee still feels worried... but it really does not seem to ne a serious injury.]

Are you sure? I will gladly help you in any way that I can, Nyuu-san!

Either way... Ah, that was quite some battle! [It's his simple way of tiptoing around the question of "WTF just happened?"]

[ She waves a hand to dismiss any further worry. It's awkward, having someone show concern. So unfamiliar... ]

A battle, huh...

That is right! [He nods softly. He does stop his advance as she dismisses him, but he still hovers nearby in case she does need something.]

At least it seems to be over now. I- I am glad that you are still well, Nyuu-san!

[ She stalls on what to say, the awkwardness nearly too much to bear, and she glances off to the side. Anywhere but directly at him. It's one thing to see someone look at her in hatred, but someone with considerably nicer eyes is disconcerting. If only that daft other self of hers would wake up already. There's no place for her among Nyuu's friends. ]

Forget about me. You...are you alright?

[He starts with a light comment that is bordering on joking.]

Nyuu-san, I cannot forget you so easily! [But he nods at her question.] The enemy caught me by surprise, but I am well! There is nothing to worry about here. We can move onwards, if all is well!

[ Ever the sourpuss, she doesn't smile despite his lightening of the situation. Instead, she motions out in front of them before returning her hand to the bump on her head, as if she needs to constantly shield it from anything else that would hurt it. ]

Then...lead the way.

[He frowns as he looks at her and the bump on her head... but he snaps out of it as she speaks.]

Ah... Yes, Nyuu-san, let us move!

[He starts to move, but he specifically stands in front of her, as preparing to try to intercept anything that might be targeting the bump on her head.]
