[They can both be flustered - it's less embarrassing that way, right?]
Of course...!
[It's only the truth, after all - just like the fact that they should vacate the premises as soon as possible.]
I am. You have a lot more reason to be tired than I do. If you're ready, then-- yes, please.
[One last glance at the way they came and then she's half-turning, prepared to leave but keeping her eyes on him in anticipation of them heading off together.]
Of course, despite the dire nature of the situation, this was far from a truly trying workout for Lee. So his concern was more for Namine, since she seemed to not be used to combat. But if she says she is ready, then Lee believes her!
He gives a firm nod at her statement.]
I still have much energy to spare, Namine-san, so there is no need for concern. Let us move!
[Rock Lee starts to move briskly towards the jungle. Nothing's chasing them, so there's no need to try to carry her again, and he just tries to keep himself moving at a pace that she can keep up with.]
[That she can go on without any more significant rest is due entirely to the fact that she didn't have to do much of the running, and has already had her break while he carried her. She would otherwise be quite thoroughly in need of a respite.]
[And she can keep up, but it is perhaps more of a strain on her than it should be for an apparently healthy young lady of her age (and it doesn't help that she's such a tiny thing, either). Still, she keeps both pace and silence, as well as an occasional watch in the direction they came.]
[It seems that if he'd like there to be conversation, he'll have to initiate it himself, because she is an almost oddly quiet sort of gal.]
[As they move into the shade of the trees, Lee keeps taking glances at Namine to make sure that she is alright. She does seem unused to this sort of thing, and he soon comes to a stop when a little time has passed without any signs of enemies.]
We can stop here for now. Do not worry... I will be vigilant of any more danger! [He says with a reassuring smile as he lightly jogs in place.] Namine-san, how are you feeling right now?
[Reluctant though she might be to say it, she's quite relieved when they stop for a rest. Her breath is already short, legs aching, and she-- gives his feet a perplexed sort of look when she realizes they're still moving.]
[Is he really jogging in place? After all that...?]
[He's more energetic than she thought. Speaking of which, she realizes she's being spoken to a moment late, and glances up again just a bit more quickly than usual, blinking.]
Feeling--? [-- No, not that kind of feeling.] ... Oh. I'm... alright. [A beat.] Maybe a little tired. Do you think this place goes on much farther?
[His energy is seemingly endless! It's rare to spot him actually standing still, so he keeps active as he speaks to her. And actively concerned.
He frowns as he thinks over the question that she asks in response.]
Ah... I am sorry but it is hard to tell when it comes to ViVID! This virtual space can turn out to be of any size! But... we do not need to explore all of it to find a way out of here. We will just have to wait until we can leave this game properly!
[The concern is less welcome than his continued moving around, so she's quick to offer him a brief smile in the hopes of placating him. It comes out just a little bit weak, but she tried, right?]
Virtual... space? [Interesting, that he should put it that way. Given what she saw before she came in here - are they inside a computer, or something? ... There's a distinct lack of glowing scenery and people, but Tron's world may not be a good indication of what it should be like, and maybe it's more in the vein of the digital Twilight Town. Anyway, she shakes her head slightly to clear it.] It's not much of a game. But-- if that's the case, then how long do you think we'll have to wait?
[Because the virtual Twilight Town went on for like a week, and she is not looking forward to the idea of being stuck with a bunch of bloodthirsty whackjobs that long, help or no.]
[The smile does help to ease him a little, but it's not enough to completely ease his concerns. Still, he manages to focus on her questions for the moment. If he hadn't been here for half a year already, he would be even more confused by this virtual space than her.]
You are right. This is not much of a game at all! Ah... but I do not think we will have to wait long. It should be less than a day! And, even sooner if we can clear one of the game's objectives!
['Less than a day' is not a great option, but it's far better than a week, and she curls her fingers against her mouth thoughtfully. She almost hates to ask, given the way things have been going thus far, but of course she must.]
Then... what would those objectives be?
[The first thing that springs to mind is participating in the wholesale slaughter all those other seem so eager to get into, based on that man's speech, but she has no intention of accomplishing that objective, even if it does happen to be demanded of her. 'Virtual space' or not.]
It... it depends on the game. It seems that - the horrible game that was mentioned by that man may be one objective. [He admits wearily, with a shake of his head.]
But all ViViD games also have some sort of a 'boss' to fight as well. If we can find and defeat such an enemy... It will be a quicker way to complete this game.
[Her expression darkens, settling into a resolute sort of grimness. No, that's not an option, objective or not. The way she phrases it is gentler, but the tone is firm.]
Well, that's no good.
[In other words: not going to happen. As for that other option, some of the tightness ebbs out of her expression as she considers it. This really does remind her of the way Sora usually tackles worlds.]
Could he be the boss? That man, I mean.
[Because that's almost definitely how it would be where she comes from. Had 'Bad Guy' written all over him.]
The man who made that announcement?! I... I did not consider that! Normally, the boss is some sort of monster... but in fact, it might truly be that man! We should investigate! [He shifts in place and glances back the way they came apprehensively.]
The same. [Her lips press together as she watches him process it, however, and as for investigating - she doesn't quite take to the idea immediately, if only because she's apprehensive of that glance the way they came. Surely he's not thinking of going back...?]
How would we do that? If I were him, I'd be hiding somewhere as protected from everyone else as I possibly could.
[With so many others around to do her dirty work - but then again, she's not him. Just because she'd play it safe doesn't mean everybody would... and he did seem like the sort who'd want to see what came of it all.]
[He looks thoughtfully a little more and then he nods.]
That is true! Perhaps he would want to seek out a hiding place. ...But, would he not also wish to view the games he has started? He might not have gone far!
[Shoot, he realized the same thing. She was half hoping he wouldn't. It isn't that she doesn't want an end put to this - she does, of course - but she's reluctant to encourage her new companion toward such a dangerous prospect. Why'd she have to open her big mouth?]
Maybe not, but-- that would probably mean going back toward where everyone else is, too. And I... don't think they'd welcome us with open arms, if they found us.
[In other words, please don't go on a crazy suicide mission, new friend.]
