First Gate [Video/Action]

[Video]

[The video feed suddenly kicks in with the sound of rushing winds and the sight of a blue sky. And soon, falling into view is bushy-browed teenager with a bowlcut, confusion and panic written all over his face.

Upon arrival, Rock Lee and his book open have begun freefalling through the sky to towards the village. Lee keeps his eyes focused on the open book and pushes himself through the air to get a closer look. Just enough to tell that it's some kind of communication device... and that it seems to be recording his face, and his movements.

Can they hear him, too? A million thoughts rush through his head. What happened? Where did everyone go? Why am I floating through the sky? Somebody help me down! But... if people could see him, he wouldn't want to look weak, would he? He's Rock Lee, after all. The Green Beast of Konoha. He can figure out a way out of this.

What would Gai Sensei do?

So he opts to force on a smile, one full of shining teeth, and he flashes a thumbs up towards the camera and shouts as loud as he can.]

DYNAMIC... ENTRY!

[Lee can find his way down. After all, his training weights are gone. He feels so light.]

[Action]

[If anyone misses out on the high-paced action, they can find Lee after he lands - either traveling to the item shop for his headband, weights and equipment or to the clothing shop for his valued green jumpsuit and vest. He'll also jog around to survey the village and some of the forest afterwards, eager to greet his new neighbors in the process.]

No. It wouldn't. I'm not going to let you carry me around like a sack. We can walk like normal people.

[He leans closer to Neji.]

Only if you are absolutely certain that you are fine, Neji! Then we may proceed to this shop walking side by side, as true comrades once more!

Of course I'm certain. One kaiten, even a large one, is not going to incapacitate me.

[... And to think he'd missed Lee over the last two months.

But he'll keep his mind on practicalities as they start walking toward the clothing shop.]

You'll probably have to make adjustments to your bodysuit for the wings. I don't believe you'll find it comfortable otherwise. And you'll need a place to stay.

[He nods] It would take more than that to drain a genius ninja such as yourself.

Ah... I will? [He feels guilty already at the idea of marring his beloved clothes.] These silly wings... and yes, where can I find residence, here?

[Oh Lee, you say the sweetest things. Always nice to hear himself recognized as the genius he is.]

Of course. If I only had one in me, I wouldn't be much of a genius.

[But moving on from that...]

There are various dwellings in the village. Most of us from our world have settled in one of the community houses, rather than scattering ourselves in private residences. When you find a place you like, if it's unoccupied, you simply move in and it becomes yours.

[And without really thinking too hard about it, because if he does he'll never say it,]

...There is a spare bedroom in my apartment, if you'd prefer not to be on your own in unknown territory.

[Lee does not hesitate to jump on that.]

I can make myself at home in any vacant room. But I think that Gai Sensei would want us to stay close together, in order for us to endure the hardships of youth together, as a team! I earnestly accept your offer, Neji!

[Oh, this is going to be fun. But he does, perhaps even to his own surprise, mean it.]

Good. Then once we've gotten your clothing, I'll show you where it is. The shop should be up this way...

There, Neji! I spot it with my own eyes! That must be the clothing shop. [He says, pointing dramatically.]

Yes. You are correct.

[He's reasonably sure Lee's clothing will be there, but he's less so about the weights -- hopefully they count as clothing?

So he heads on in, looking around for green and orange.]

[In his excitement, Lee forgets all about the lack of weights. He runs haphazardly through the store, scattering all of the clothes in a whirlwind. He skids to a halt before a wall, and a small mount of clothes collapses onto him, including a familiar green jumpsuit.]

[And this is why Neji is standing just inside the door.]

... Are you done?

[And he walks forward and plucks the green jumpsuit out of the pile, holding it up.]

[Lee pops up from the pile of the clothes, coughing a brassiere off of his face.]

Neji, you found it!

With considerably less drama than you just displayed, yes.

[And Neji tosses it onto Lee's head. A little provocation, maybe a little more. It will only take so much before they wind up in a scuffle or a spar, and then he can let out all the tension winding up in him.]

Drama? I have only displayed the recklessness of youth, and I believe it has been done in a most beautiful fashion.

[He stands up with the clothes draped over his head. Lee defends his case, but he's not quite riled enough to challenge his rival just yet.]

I'm sure that whoever has to clean up this mess will be most appreciative of your display. You might consider others before charging forward.

[The 'idiot' at the end is left implicit.]

Neji, you know well how little control I have without my weights! And I shall gladly clean this mess of my own making!

A lack of control isn't an excuse. It's a flaw you should correct.

[... He can only imagine how well Lee trying to clean up will go.]

Go ahead. [He'll just watch.]

I must train more! That is all.

[He begins scooping up some of the clothes.]

[Just going to lean against the doorjamb with his arms folded.]

Is there any dilemma where your answer isn't to train harder?

[Is that the tiniest hint of a smile trying to show itself at the corner of his mouth? Of course it isn't, shut up.]

Not just my answer! Harder work is the solution to every problem.

[He begins hanging the clothes back up speedily - and he grins. Perhaps this is his practice.]

It still hasn't gotten you a date with Sakura, I've noticed.

[Because he just has to needle Lee about that.]

[Lee is quickly flustered.]

S-Sakura-san is... matters of the heart are very different and require a much more delicate touch. [A slight pause.] Where is Sakura-san in this strange world, by the way?

Unfortunately, delicate touches don't seem to be your specialty

Sakura's not here. I believe she was, briefly, but she was sent home about the time I arrived here.

Just another thing to work on! But.... Sakura-san was here, but I have missed her? Oh, such bittrsweet experiences of youth!
