First Gate [Video/Action]

[Video]

[The video feed suddenly kicks in with the sound of rushing winds and the sight of a blue sky. And soon, falling into view is bushy-browed teenager with a bowlcut, confusion and panic written all over his face.

Upon arrival, Rock Lee and his book open have begun freefalling through the sky to towards the village. Lee keeps his eyes focused on the open book and pushes himself through the air to get a closer look. Just enough to tell that it's some kind of communication device... and that it seems to be recording his face, and his movements.

Can they hear him, too? A million thoughts rush through his head. What happened? Where did everyone go? Why am I floating through the sky? Somebody help me down! But... if people could see him, he wouldn't want to look weak, would he? He's Rock Lee, after all. The Green Beast of Konoha. He can figure out a way out of this.

What would Gai Sensei do?

So he opts to force on a smile, one full of shining teeth, and he flashes a thumbs up towards the camera and shouts as loud as he can.]

DYNAMIC... ENTRY!

[Lee can find his way down. After all, his training weights are gone. He feels so light.]

[Action]

[If anyone misses out on the high-paced action, they can find Lee after he lands - either traveling to the item shop for his headband, weights and equipment or to the clothing shop for his valued green jumpsuit and vest. He'll also jog around to survey the village and some of the forest afterwards, eager to greet his new neighbors in the process.]

Time is warped here. I was with the army two months ago, the time you remember as yesterday.

[Assuming they're even from the same point in time. At least Lee knows about the war.

And when Lee mentions their teacher, Neji actually looks away. Let's not talk about how he has quietly wished for Gai's presence more than once. Crazy, yes, but still their teacher.]

He's not here. The Malnosso haven't taken him.

[It's a lot to take in. But Lee focuses on the most stressing part.]

Then that means... he's back home? Still facing Madara... and we cannot help him!

That's right.

[Pause, trying to decide how much to hand Lee at once.]

Although from what the others have said, when we are returned home, it will be to the same moment that we left. So he should not miss us.

Then that... is not so bad. We may still be able to help him, then. [He glances around.] Ah... where did that communication book go?

If it's true. I suppose that it makes sense, as Shikamaru has been here for years without us missing him at home, but...

[He shrugs, then glances around for Lee's journal.]

It's over there.

You can be here so long?

[He gropes along the ground and grabs the journal, holding it up to scrutinize as if it were a foreign object.]

[Although Neji dreads such a thing. If he's trapped here that long, what will be left of him - of the him he knows now?]

What about you, Neji? How long have you been here? And do all people here communicate through these mysterious books?

I've been here about two months. That was the last wave of New Feathers before this one.

And yes, most people use the journals. They're not difficult to master, and convenient.

[And he glances sidelong at Lee.]

We should find your clothes... and your weights, I'm guessing. You're moving like you don't have them. They'll be here somewhere.

[He takes in this information carefully, wishing he had his notepad with him.]

Yes, my weights are definitely missing! I'd need them to... wait, my clothes? [He looks down, notices the New Feather garb and sheepishly puts his hands over his chest.] I feel so exposed....

[Now he's got something so much better than a notepad, though!]

Everyone goes through it.

[At least he's not wet and naked in the middle of the village like that one time.]

Yes, they'll have arrived here separately. If they weren't falling with you, they'll be in one of the shops.

[Yes, but he's not sure if this strange book is safe to write in. What if everyone can see his private musings?!]

O...okay. We should head there immediately! [He stoops over] Neji! You must be tired from the chakra you exhausted to help me land - and I can use some weight. Please, get on my back and point me towards this shop!

Wh- No.

[And to think he'd missed Lee.]

But... Neji! Would that not be the most efficient way to cover ground?

No. It wouldn't. I'm not going to let you carry me around like a sack. We can walk like normal people.

[He leans closer to Neji.]

Only if you are absolutely certain that you are fine, Neji! Then we may proceed to this shop walking side by side, as true comrades once more!

Of course I'm certain. One kaiten, even a large one, is not going to incapacitate me.

[... And to think he'd missed Lee over the last two months.

But he'll keep his mind on practicalities as they start walking toward the clothing shop.]

You'll probably have to make adjustments to your bodysuit for the wings. I don't believe you'll find it comfortable otherwise. And you'll need a place to stay.

[He nods] It would take more than that to drain a genius ninja such as yourself.

Ah... I will? [He feels guilty already at the idea of marring his beloved clothes.] These silly wings... and yes, where can I find residence, here?

[Oh Lee, you say the sweetest things. Always nice to hear himself recognized as the genius he is.]

Of course. If I only had one in me, I wouldn't be much of a genius.

[But moving on from that...]

There are various dwellings in the village. Most of us from our world have settled in one of the community houses, rather than scattering ourselves in private residences. When you find a place you like, if it's unoccupied, you simply move in and it becomes yours.

[And without really thinking too hard about it, because if he does he'll never say it,]

...There is a spare bedroom in my apartment, if you'd prefer not to be on your own in unknown territory.

[Lee does not hesitate to jump on that.]

I can make myself at home in any vacant room. But I think that Gai Sensei would want us to stay close together, in order for us to endure the hardships of youth together, as a team! I earnestly accept your offer, Neji!

[Oh, this is going to be fun. But he does, perhaps even to his own surprise, mean it.]

Good. Then once we've gotten your clothing, I'll show you where it is. The shop should be up this way...

There, Neji! I spot it with my own eyes! That must be the clothing shop. [He says, pointing dramatically.]

Yes. You are correct.

[He's reasonably sure Lee's clothing will be there, but he's less so about the weights -- hopefully they count as clothing?

So he heads on in, looking around for green and orange.]

[In his excitement, Lee forgets all about the lack of weights. He runs haphazardly through the store, scattering all of the clothes in a whirlwind. He skids to a halt before a wall, and a small mount of clothes collapses onto him, including a familiar green jumpsuit.]
