First Gate [Video/Action]

[Video]

[The video feed suddenly kicks in with the sound of rushing winds and the sight of a blue sky. And soon, falling into view is bushy-browed teenager with a bowlcut, confusion and panic written all over his face.

Upon arrival, Rock Lee and his book open have begun freefalling through the sky to towards the village. Lee keeps his eyes focused on the open book and pushes himself through the air to get a closer look. Just enough to tell that it's some kind of communication device... and that it seems to be recording his face, and his movements.

Can they hear him, too? A million thoughts rush through his head. What happened? Where did everyone go? Why am I floating through the sky? Somebody help me down! But... if people could see him, he wouldn't want to look weak, would he? He's Rock Lee, after all. The Green Beast of Konoha. He can figure out a way out of this.

What would Gai Sensei do?

So he opts to force on a smile, one full of shining teeth, and he flashes a thumbs up towards the camera and shouts as loud as he can.]

DYNAMIC... ENTRY!

[Lee can find his way down. After all, his training weights are gone. He feels so light.]

[Action]

[If anyone misses out on the high-paced action, they can find Lee after he lands - either traveling to the item shop for his headband, weights and equipment or to the clothing shop for his valued green jumpsuit and vest. He'll also jog around to survey the village and some of the forest afterwards, eager to greet his new neighbors in the process.]

[He takes a moment to feel around on his back. At the sore spot. And he gapes.]

Augh! How could this be...? And... he was trapped here, himself?

[Surprise! Some new limbs for you to figure out there.]

[Safely, he hopes, although not sure how to accomplish that. Lee's falling figure is getting larger...

Come on, genius. Think. Neji's moving on an intercept course, mind racing for ways to cushion Lee's landing.]

[Rock Lee turns his head to try to look at the wins and winds up tumbling around in midair.]

This is all so very confusing!

[And finally Neji has a solution. It's only been a few moments actually, but it feels like forever that he's been searching for a solution.

He's planting himself directly under Lee.]

Lee! Be ready! I'm going to blow you off course, you should be able to manage a landing from that!

[And that's the biggest kaiten he can pull off; the dome of chakra is easily the size of a room, and -- if he's doing this right -- should be enough to counter Lee's downward speed. It's not going to set him on his feet, but it should fling him sideways at a much lower speed, enough that he can catch himself, or at least land without severe injury.

[He looks down to see Neji performing it.]

Neji?!

[Lee is tossed into the air, flailing around, but this does manage to break the momentum. Looks like he'll be coming to a much softer landing.]

[And he comes to a stop, seeing Lee land much more softly than he would have, and nods to himself. Good, it worked.]

There we go. It's good to see you again, Lee.

[Properly, and not through the journal.]

[He clambers to his feet and looks up towards Neji.]

Thank you, Neji. It is a pleasure to see you as well. The army must really have been separated, has it not?

This is nothing to do with the army.

[Loooong explanation time, go!]

We're in a place called Luceti. Our captors, a race called the Malnosso, have taken us, and many other people, including those from different worlds. They can also draw people from the past, or from the future.

[He blinks and tries to take it in.]

This is... unlike anything I have imagined! Are you sure that this is true?

Let me put it this way. I've been here for two months.

[And when was the last time you saw him back home? Not two months ago!]

It is unlike anything we could have experienced at home. You'll have to learn to accept it.

Two months? But we were all just with the army! It wasn't that long ago we were separated. But this is unacceptable!

[He starts swerving around.]

Where is Gai-Sensei? Did he sneak away from the battle to prepare this final test? As a way of ensuring we are ready to battle Madara!

Time is warped here. I was with the army two months ago, the time you remember as yesterday.

[Assuming they're even from the same point in time. At least Lee knows about the war.

And when Lee mentions their teacher, Neji actually looks away. Let's not talk about how he has quietly wished for Gai's presence more than once. Crazy, yes, but still their teacher.]

He's not here. The Malnosso haven't taken him.

[It's a lot to take in. But Lee focuses on the most stressing part.]

Then that means... he's back home? Still facing Madara... and we cannot help him!

That's right.

[Pause, trying to decide how much to hand Lee at once.]

Although from what the others have said, when we are returned home, it will be to the same moment that we left. So he should not miss us.

Then that... is not so bad. We may still be able to help him, then. [He glances around.] Ah... where did that communication book go?

If it's true. I suppose that it makes sense, as Shikamaru has been here for years without us missing him at home, but...

[He shrugs, then glances around for Lee's journal.]

It's over there.

You can be here so long?

[He gropes along the ground and grabs the journal, holding it up to scrutinize as if it were a foreign object.]

[Although Neji dreads such a thing. If he's trapped here that long, what will be left of him - of the him he knows now?]

What about you, Neji? How long have you been here? And do all people here communicate through these mysterious books?

I've been here about two months. That was the last wave of New Feathers before this one.

And yes, most people use the journals. They're not difficult to master, and convenient.

[And he glances sidelong at Lee.]

We should find your clothes... and your weights, I'm guessing. You're moving like you don't have them. They'll be here somewhere.

[He takes in this information carefully, wishing he had his notepad with him.]

Yes, my weights are definitely missing! I'd need them to... wait, my clothes? [He looks down, notices the New Feather garb and sheepishly puts his hands over his chest.] I feel so exposed....

[Now he's got something so much better than a notepad, though!]

Everyone goes through it.

[At least he's not wet and naked in the middle of the village like that one time.]

Yes, they'll have arrived here separately. If they weren't falling with you, they'll be in one of the shops.

[Yes, but he's not sure if this strange book is safe to write in. What if everyone can see his private musings?!]

O...okay. We should head there immediately! [He stoops over] Neji! You must be tired from the chakra you exhausted to help me land - and I can use some weight. Please, get on my back and point me towards this shop!

Wh- No.

[And to think he'd missed Lee.]

But... Neji! Would that not be the most efficient way to cover ground?
