[ That's certainly all the incentives she needs to run after him despite the daunting image of the trees. She decides to ditch the shoes first, though. They're gonna help her get nowhere fast. ]

Do not worry! If I lost you, Nyuu-san, I would never forgive myself! [So he starts to run on, but he adjusts his pace so that she can keep up! At least it looks like the people didn't follow them outside.]

Don't do that either! I'd never forgive you if you never forgave...yourself! [ She's certain that'll get the message across but words still aren't her strongest suit.

Though, she can swear she hears the sounds of padding feet. Like big dog paws hitting grass in the distance. They're getting closer, too, which is rightfully worrisome. ]

But he does hear those noises drawing nearer, and he's worried. Tensely, he states to her-]

Is that so? [He looks at her, concerned. She does seem to be guilty about something, and that worries Lee. He just wants her to be safe and happy! So he, goes on.]

Then, let please allow me to suggest something. Namine-san, may I carry you?! [It seems like the easiest way for both of them to move fast...]

[It only seems to make her look guiltier, that worry, which is probably counterproductive. The suggestion itself wipes that away, at least, but that's in favor of a thoroughly taken aback look and a stumble that nearly sends her tripping to the hard ballroom floor.]

[The idea is... unnerving to her, for a variety of reasons - though none of them because she thinks he's untrustworthy. (Just the opposite, actually, because he's awfully earnest, isn't he?) Twisting, she casts another look over her shoulder--]

[A spear shoots past them - bad aim on the thrower's part - and Naminé realizes that it's probably for the best to make a decision expediently, for both their sakes.]

-- Yes! Please...! [If he can and not be slowed down even more by it, which is the real question in her mind. (Not that she isn't about as light as can possibly be, but still.)]

[Rock Lee was slightly taken aback by her initial reaction - could his suggestion have been wrong? But he focused so much on her that he did not notice that spear until it could have been too late.

Then he nods firmly as she makes her decision, his confusion quickly subsiding to focus on the emergency.]

I will not let you down!

[Lee leans down quickly, and then he tries to scoop her up in his arms to carry her bridal-style. Without having to match Namine's speed anymore, this will allow him to move a lot faster. He flashes a reassuring smile, before he turns and starts running for the door much more quickly, while weaving around the enemy assaults.]

[She's a funny girl, Naminé - there's always too much going on in her head that isn't even remotely comprehensible from the outside. Like how she offers no resistance when he scoops her up but still goes weirdly stiff, arms in, once she's held. (Although she seems to relax again slightly when she glances up and catches that smile, even managing to return it for the barest of instants.) She nevertheless sounds genuine when she says,]

I believe you.

[And it's unabashed, despite how reserved she comes across as; there is no audible doubt. They're really booking in comparison to before, after all, which kind of unsettles her nerves because she is not used to moving this fast and especially not without being on her own two feet, but that's the least of her worries.]

[There are a few more projectiles of various natures headed their way - someone got their hands on a bow, looks like - but there isn't much she can do about it; she does, however, see fit to warn him (since she's the one looking over his shoulder while he runs) with an,] Incoming...!

[There did certainly seem to be a shift in her posture. Lee kept firm hold on her, but he did also try to make sure that was still comfortable. Her assurance that she believed in him did warm his heart, and he basked in that feeling for a moment. He was distracted enough that he did not notice the incoming attackers until Namine pointed them out - and so Lee quickly shifted his focus towards the enemies with frantic surprise.]

Ack-! [And he ducked just in time to avoid an arrow. With that, he started moving very quickly, sprinting right towards the exit while using his legs to sweep enemies in their way right off their feet.]

[Rock Lee gasps as the dress in torn!]

Ack!

[He was afraid of seeing something scandalous... instead he sees a fish tail. That's actually not too unfamiliar to him, as he has already befriended a mermaid in the colony, so that shock quickly dies down, but some nervousness echoes in his tone.]

N-no! You are alright! It is only if - if you yourself lost your life. That is what it means to lose! You are still in game, Miss! But, are you alright?!

Huh? Oh, bookay. I'm totally fine.

[ She swishes her tail in demonstration. ]

My fin doesn't get as stuck in the dress like this!

Ah, I see! [He smiles sheepishly and gives a thumbs up.]

I am glad that you are alright! And if your mobility is improved, that can only be good! [With that, he slams his leg down over the current opponent's head to knock him out.]

[ She grips the skirts and tries to pull the dress off over her head. There's a zipper in the back though. ]

[Now he looks confused and nervous.]

A Kick to the Shinpachis

Whoever says such a thing, they must be wrong! I can see your youth shining in every sweatdrop, Shinpachi-kun...!

[But he pauses a moment as he considers that proposal.]

To... retreat? Yes, it is true that sometimes it is best to retreat, rather than to fight to a standstill...

[He flips through the air to land directly in front of Shinpachi's face and look him in the eyes.]

Speak from your heart!! Is now truly the time for that?!

[ Rock Lee seriously is too supportive.. but he likes the flattery, so of course Shinpachi will eagerly suck it up all the same, a grin on his face. Which ends up being a grin directly aimed at the other once Rock Lee lands in front of him like that - he doesn't even flinch at the way the other lands there. Not much that can faze him in battle situations by now anymore, he's used to other words having weirder ways of fighting than just sword battles. ]

Yeah!

[ It's not really cowardly when they have the upper hand here - it's more just that this would be a pain to deal with and wouldn't do any good at this point anymore. Shinpachi can't even spot any people left who'd still need saving.. ]

Take it from someone who's lead troops before and trust me-- it'll be easier if we just get outta here right now while preparing ourselves for what's waiting for us out there.

[Lee will do his best to be supportive of such a hot-blooded friend! He stares at Shinpachi for just a moment, before he nods and pulls back, doing some flips backwards and dropkicking another enemy.]

Very well! I trust in your wisdom and your experience, Shinpachi-kun! And... I will do everything that I can to clear our way towards this exit!

Great-- then you go ahead.

[ It has nothing to do with Shinpachi not wanting to take the lead or being a coward or anything.. It's just that it's easier to protect Rock lee that way if something goes wrong. If the other is trailing behind him, then he might not know if something is wrong until it's too late - so it's easier to cover him from the back. ]

I'll follow right after you, no worries! Just go straight to the exit!

[Rock Lee nods firmly in response.]

I trust you entirely, Shinpachi-kun! Please watch my back... while I watch our forward! [Then he starts fighting his way forwards towards the door.]

No, I assumed from the beginning that you remembered! I pressured you... you only acted that way because you are such a kind person, Mabel-chan! I am the one who forced this situation! I am the one who is sorry! And I...!

[He reaches down, to scoop up Mabel with one arm and Waddles with the other.]

...I will get you out of this mess!!

[Then, he starts to dash for the door!]

[Whoever this person was, he was a whole lot nicer than she thought! In fact, she was starting to feel even more guilt about what she did!]

[Of course before Mabel could even finish her words, that's when she suddenly found herself being picked up!]

W-Whoa! Be careful, there are a bunch of other people coming behind us!

[There are some enemies closing in on them, but Lee leans down and sweeps his leg across, to trip them all off their feet! And then he runs forward.]

[She shouted once more before an axe nearly flew right over her! Whoever this guy was, Mabel just kept on staring at how he managed to tackle on all those people by himself! (Seriously, just who was he anyway??)

As she kept holding on for dear life, she just pointed straight at the door!]
